Medical Grade Peels

Medical grade skin peels can work in a number of ways but generally used to assist the shedding of dry, damaged skin cells and to promote healthy, smooth, radiant and even skin tone. We only use Peels that penetrate the epidermis and work progressively, not aggressively. All medical grade dermal peels can be adapted to suit various skin types and conditions.

We only use peels that are chirally correct, in simple terms this means that every molecule has a left and right side and skin cells can only utilize one side of the molecule because the receptors on our skin cells are all chiral (like gloves made only to fit the correct hand). Chirally correct ingredients fit properly onto the skin receptors, resulting in highly effective products with minimal side effects. If you use products which contain the chirally incorrect molecule it can neutralize the effect of the chirally correct molecule, or it may even cause irritation or undesirable side effects.

Medical Grade Skin Peels can be used to help:
Stimulate micro-circulation
Soften lines and wrinkle
Even out skin tone and aids with pigmentation
Help prevent new pimples from forming
Increases cellular renewal
Offer a deeper exfoliation
Softens and helps remove black heads

Medical grade skin peels dissolve ionic bonds to loosen dead skin cells, which facilities hydration and penetration of active ingredients. It also helps to stimulate collagen in the dermis. Peels work best on skin that has been prepared adequately over a period of at least 2 weeks – by preparing the skin, the peel solution will be able to penetrate more evenly and effectively while minimizing side effects.

The average program is 3-6 treatments depending on type of peel chosen and on each individual skin condition. Some skin problems are deeper than others and may require additional treatments.

A tingling or slight stinging sensation maybe felt for a few minutes while the peel dries or until the solution is washed off. Skin that has been prepared adequately will be more tolerant and less reactive.

A full cleanse is conducted to remove oil from your skin before applying the peel, the toner used to remove oil can sting, or feel slightly itchy, but this normal and is over quickly. A tingling or slight stinging sensation may also be felt for a few minutes while the peel is on the skin. Because the peels are chirally correct this is minimal, some clients don’t feel anything. The peels work progressively over time, not aggressively and thus deliver fast results without the pain or down time generally associated with peels. Even once removed the peel stays active in your skin for up to 18hrs after treatment.

Mild to moderate redness for a few hours after the procedure which most say feels like slight sunburn. Skin can turn shiny and may start to flake off after a day and for up to a week – it is important not to pick any peeling skin as this will delay the healing process. You can also experience a mild outbreak.

After a chirally correct medical strength dermal peel, skin may feel tight and look shiny for a few days. After a few days a light peeling effect may start.

NOTE : do not pick any peeling skin as this delays the healing process and can lead to infection, scarring, or pigmentation changes. You will have clear instructions on how look after your skin after treatment.
